Mr. Chin is a distinguished leader in hotel and hospitality security management and actively involved in the lodging industry’s overall safety enhancement. He has held positions at The Waldorf Astoria, New York Palace Hotel, Peninsula Hotels N.A., The Plaza, and The Loews Regency Hotel and is currently the Chief Operating Officer of IPS Hospitality Corporate Security.
Mr. Chin has chaired the New York City Hotel Association Safety & Security Committee since 1993, served as the chair of the American Society for Industrial Security’s (ASIS) Hospitality and Themed Entertainment Council from August 1999 to December 2002, and currently as the ASIS Lodging Sub-Committee chair. He served as the ASIS NYC Chapter chairman between January 2007 to December 2008 and was a board member. He was also a member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s (AH&LA) Loss Prevention Committee and the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC).
Mr. Chin regularly speaks at industry conferences internationally and has had articles published in several trade magazines. He also lecturers at City Tech, New York University, and John Jay College.
